What is The Dash Project?

The Dash Project creates QR code memorial plaques that link to a personalised online memorial page. When visiting a gravesite, memorial, or special place, you can simply scan the code to view photos and read the story of a loved one’s life—the moments that made up the “dash” between the dates.

Who is this for?

This service is for anyone wanting a more meaningful way to remember and share a loved one’s story. Whether placed on a headstone, memorial bench, tree, or another special location, it allows visitors to connect with memories in a simple and accessible way.

When would someone purchase this?

Most commonly, this is arranged after a loved one has passed. However, it can also be created at any time as part of pre-planning or to honour someone’s life in advance.

How does the process work?

Once your order is placed, you’ll receive a link to a form where you can:

• Provide key details (name, dates, story)
• Upload photos

From there, we take care of everything—designing and building your memorial page. You’ll receive a preview to review and approve before anything is finalised.

What information do I need to provide?

You’ll be asked to provide:

• Full name
• Birth and death dates
• A written story or tribute (up to 500 words)
• Up to 20 photos

Do I create the page myself?

No—everything is done for you. We handle the full setup and design to ensure a clean, respectful, and lasting result.

Can I request changes?

Yes. One revision is included with your order. Additional changes may be available for an additional fee.

How long does it take to create the memorial page?

Your memorial page is typically completed within 5–10 business days, with most completed closer to 5 days.

What do I receive?

You’ll receive a package containing:

• Your custom QR code plaque
• Adhesive for attachment
• Cleaning wipes
• Instructions for applying the plaque

Your personalised memorial page will also be created and linked to your QR code.

How do people access the memorial page?

Visitors simply scan the QR code using their smartphone camera to instantly access the page.

Can I preview the page before it goes live?

Yes. You’ll receive a preview link to review and approve before the page is finalised.

Is the memorial page public or private?

By default, pages are accessible via the QR code but are not indexed or searchable online.

If you prefer, you can choose to make your page password protected during purchase for an additional fee.

How long will the memorial page remain available?

Your memorial page will remain live for as long as The Dash Project continues to operate. We are committed to providing a long-term space for these memories to be preserved.

Where do you ship to?

We primarily ship within New Zealand. International orders can be arranged—please contact us first for a shipping quote.

How long does delivery take?

Delivery is typically 1–3 business days once your order has been shipped, although this is not guaranteed.

Will I receive tracking information?

Yes, tracking details will be provided once your order has been dispatched.

How do I attach the QR code plaque?

Each plaque is attached using the adhesive provided in your package.

Do you provide instructions?

Yes, clear instructions are included to guide you through the attachment process.

What if something goes wrong with my order?

We work with one main point of contact per order. If additional time is needed to gather photos or information, simply let us know via email.

One update is included with your order. As new features are introduced, existing customers may receive access as part of their original purchase.
